Speed on a phone, a working sitemap, sensible page titles, real headings, no broken links, and pages a search engine can actually read. None of this is visible to a visitor, and all of it is the floor everything else stands on. It is also the part most often skipped, because it does not photograph well in a proposal.
Found by people who are nearby.
SEO has a deserved reputation for being sold as a monthly bill with nothing you can point at. We do the parts that measurably matter for a local business — the technical groundwork, the map listing, the pages that answer what people actually search — and we show you what changed.
What it is / in plain English
Mostly it is fixing the basics.
For a local business, the unglamorous truth is that most of the available benefit comes from a short list: a site that loads quickly on a phone, pages that plainly state what you do and where you do it, a correct and complete map listing, and consistent contact details everywhere you appear.
That is not a secret and it is not magic. It is a checklist that most small sites have never been through, which is exactly why going through it works. Anyone promising a specific ranking for a specific word by a specific date is guessing — nobody controls the search engines, and being told otherwise should end the conversation.
If someone guarantees you the top spot, they are guessing with your money.
What we actually do / the concrete list
The short list that moves the needle.
For a local business this is frequently worth more than the website itself. Correct hours, correct categories, correct service area, real photographs, and a process for reviews. When somebody searches for what you do and adds a town name, the map results are what they see first — often without ever scrolling to the ordinary links.
People search in their own words, not in your industry's vocabulary. Pages that answer the question a customer actually typed — in the language they used — do the work. That means writing for the person, not stuffing a phrase in twenty times, which stopped working many years ago and now actively counts against you.
Name, address, and phone number identical across your site, your map listing, and the directories that already mention you. Three slightly different versions of your address across the web is a genuine and very common drag on local results, and it is entirely fixable.
What we changed, what moved, and what did not. We run our own analytics rather than sending you a vendor's automated PDF, so the numbers come with an explanation from someone who did the work. If something we tried did not help, that goes in the report too.
Nobody controls the rankings. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something.
How we work / and what we will not do
Start with an honest assessment.
Before anyone spends money, we look at where you actually stand: what you rank for now, what your map listing looks like, what is technically holding the site back, and who you are really competing with locally.
Sometimes that assessment concludes you do not need an ongoing SEO engagement at all — you need three specific things fixed and then to be left alone. We are happy to be the people who tell you that. An hourly project that solves it beats a monthly retainer that quietly renews forever.
What we will not do: buy links, spin filler articles, promise a number-one ranking, or lock you into a contract you cannot leave. Those tactics range from ineffective to actively harmful, and cleaning up after them is its own unpleasant project.
Who it is for / and what it costs
For local businesses the phone is not ringing for.
Trades, clinics, professional practices, and shops that serve a real geographic area — the businesses where being findable in one city matters far more than ranking nationally for a generic term.
The assessment is a fixed piece of work with a written result you keep, whether or not you continue with us. After that, most local businesses are better served by a defined project than an open-ended retainer, priced from block time. If an ongoing engagement genuinely suits your situation, we will scope it — but we will not default to it.
SEO works best on a site that is technically sound to begin with. If yours is not, that is the first conversation — and we will say so before taking money for search work that the site itself will undo.
